Plater Chemicals
Going back to Plater Chemicals roots ,we have restarted importing Sodium Metabisulphite from our Turkish principle Ak-Kim, I am sure the market will welcome an alternative to the Esseco product.
Following the increases in the prices of Boric Acid in the summer as a result of high demand from the Far East, we have seen prices softening over recent months.
Our Indian principle, Star Oxochem, have received notice that their goods will attract anti-dumping duties of 40% for imports into the UK. Other Chinese and Indian producers have also had anti-dumping duties applied; however Star Oxochem is higher than the rest and are appealing as a result. The price of Oxalic Acid has therefore increased substantially and no doubt EEC producers will follow.
Plater Chemicals, using Lancashire Chemicals facilities, has begun to produce Sodium Nitrate powder from a stream of Sodium Nitrate 40%, we will expand sales into the UK & EEC over the coming years.

Daltrade News
Q4 2011, especially the run up to the festive period has been an exceptionally busy period for the company, negotiations with our Polish partners are still ongoing but the majority of business has been concluded as regards the purchase of commodity chemicals. We received three Fast Vessels within three weeks; all products are safely into store at Britannia Storage Goole. Containers of Food Grade Sodium Bicarbonate will arrive by container early January 2012 for stock along with further boxes going direct to customer.
We now move into 2012 and will continue to work closely with our colleagues at Plater chemicals, Lancashire Chemicals and of course Ciech of Poland.
