Plater Chemicals was incorporated in 1980 & has grown to become a respected chemical distributor.

In April 2009 Plater chemicals acquired Lancashire Chemicals, Glossop, which bought manufacturing capacity to Plater Chemicals.

In April 2010 Plater Chemicals acquired the business of Daltrade, who specialise in the import and distribution of Polish chemicals.

Our short term goals are to consolidate our position in the market and to expand the business using our manufacturing capability.

Plater Chemicals
A couple of products need a mention, Oxalic Acid & Boric Acid; both have become short for different reasons.

Oxalic Acid prices are increasing as a result of anti dumping being applied to Chinese product. The likely effect is Oxalic Acid of Chinese origin will increase and the EEC producers will follow. Plater Chemicals represents the interests of the Indian producer Star Oxochem and will continue to offer a competitively priced premium product.

Boric Acid has increased in price through 2011 by more than 25%, as a result of extremely high demand from the Far East. Plater Chemicals has been put on allocation by its Bolivian principle Tierra, however we do receive regular shipments.
